I was very disappointed to read this:

Government Spokesman Christodoulos Pashiardis said on Thursday that it would be an unpleasant development if the puppet regime in the Turkish occupied areas of Cyprus opened a commercial office in Kuwait but underlined that this development does not necessarily give the pseudo-state any legality.

If, in the end, the pseudo-state intends to open up a commercial office in Kuwait, this would of course be an unpleasant development. But surely, this does not mean giving any legality to the illegal pseudo-state, Pashiardis said, answering questions during his daily briefing.

He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus is already making all necessary representations concerning the issue.

For the people who don’t actually know… I am half Kuwaiti, and I just tried to imagine how they could do this!! As Kuwait once was occupied, don’t they should know how it feels like!! As if some country as independent as they are now went did business with the occupied regime there then when they were occupied??

How could Kuwait broke my heart like this? I’m so extremely disappointed!

  1. I must say the news above surprised me too. Please check my email so you get my take on this. Cheers 🙂

  3. It’s really sad! I have participated in the education fair a couple of years back for my university here in kuwait and the fair had a section for Turkish Cyprian universities. It struck me.

I am a huge supporter of the Greek Cyprus so this bold move coming from Kuwait will make it even harder for the rest of the world to convince the Turks to solving the situation with Cyprus.

Sadly, it’s a true fact. I’ve read it a while ago in the papers here.

  4. Kinano: It is really sad! I wish I would find people who could do something about it there or at least try! It’s so difficult from here! Many say it has to do with religion and I try to tell them but Iraq when invaded Kuwait they were Muslims so was ok to do business with them then? They say it’s different… OH what’s different? Turks have invaded Cyprus, just like Iraq invaded Kuwait on August 2, 1990, the United!! I’m happy to see some one on my side in the matter! 🙂
